Biography:

Austin is the older of two children. He was raised in a single parent household, by his mother, who was a nurse in local hospital. This made money a serious problem for his family, who lived in a two bedroom apartment. Austin often went without food so that his mother and little sister could have food. His mother was a devout Christian, and the Price family attended church every Sunday. Austin grew into the faith, and often turned to it in times of hardship.

On Austin’s 14th birthday, he and family went to his favorite restaurant to have his favorite food, Open Flamed Onion Moa Burgers. The establishment was rumored to have connections to a major organized crime business. When his little sister, Rachel, went to the bathroom, a small group of man ran into the building, wielding UNSC assault rifles. They demanded that the manager, who was also a major arms dealer, come out of the kitchen. Ashley, who did not know about the situation outside, came out of the restroom. As soon as she opened the door, one of the criminals panicked, and shot her in the chest. The group than made a quick escape, and left the building. Austin ran to his sister, and tried desperately to save her life, but failed. He sat there, helpless, as he watched his sister die in his arms.

After the death of his sister, his mother began to cry for hours a day, blaming herself for going to the restaurant. One day after school, Austin returned home to find his mother dead of suicide, by taking an entire bottle of sleeping pills. Austin was completely crushed, having lost his entire family in less than a month. He was placed into foster care, but was never adopted. Throughout this time, he relied heavily on his faith as an anchor, and although he thought about suicide, his faith kept him going, and he used the loss of his family as motivation.

On his 18th birthday, Austin enlisted with the UNSC, and following training, he enlisted with the ODST. He trained to be a field medic, and graduated as the best in his class. During the extremely difficult ODST training, he thought about dropping out many times, but used his family as a source of motivation and inspiration.

He has a very honor based philosophy, and seeks to find a peaceful solution to a problem if it is possible. He is against the war between the UNSC and rebels, and has trouble killing fellow humans, especially after the devastating effects of the Covenant War.
